Three people are in custody in Anne Arundel County after terrorizing places of worship throughout Odenton and Annapolis over the past several weeks, authorities announced on Thursday, June 29.
Blake Krenzer, and Brandon Krezner, of Gambrills, and Jarren Alexander are facing multiple charges for their roles in vandalizing at least four churches over the past two weeks.
Churches targeted include:
- Ark & Dove Presbyterian Church on Piney Orchard Parkway in Odenton;
- Fowler United Methodist Church on Bestgate Road in Annapolis;
- St. Phillips Episcopal Church on Bestgate Road in Annapolis (twice);
- Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church on Riva Road in Annapolis.
The vandalism incidents were reported between Friday, June 9, and Saturday, June 24.
it is alleged that the Krenzers were responsible for the vandalism of a Black Lives Matter and Pride signs at the Ark & Dove Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, June 13.
This week, Alexander was identified as a suspect responsible for the vandalism at Fowler United, as well as at St. Phillips, and he is being investigated for his role in a possible third incident.
"I want to congratulate the good men and women in our Anne Arundel County police department, the detectives and community that supported them in their work,” Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman said in a statement. “Any perpetrators who think that a house of worship is a place to express their hate should learn that justice will prevail.”
Deputy Police Chief Katherine Roberts added that,” There is no place for hate anywhere in Anne Arundel County, and we will not tolerate these acts against our places of worship or any individual in our county.”
